T-Mobile Voice Tariffs

Which network is giving the best value in May 2009?

From the BIG 4 networks that we compare for business users, Orange is currently the cheapest network on offer in the majority of searches. Orange currently have an aggressive appetite for new business and this is reflected in their current commercial offering. As with anything this will probably change in the not too distant future and another front runner will appear, possibly T-Mobile, but this month Orange are generally the best value for money.

The current Orange business tariffs have been recently refreshed. Business Sense offers better fit options than the previous Venture and Momentum offerings.

The Orange offering is built around longer term contracts as you would expect, the same as o2, Vodafone and T-Mobile, you get rewarded for longer commitment. Itemised billing is free on all Business Sense tariffs as are unlimited calls and texts in group. With a 24 month contract you also get free calls to any Orange user plus you can choose either the Discount or Option version of the tariff. With the discount tariff, you get dicount! With the options version you can choose between either 3000 minutes of calls to UK landlines beginning 01,02 and 03 dialled from the UK, 1000 text messages to UK or 1000 International minutes. GREAT VALUE!!!

Orange Care (handset insurance) is free on all contracts 18 month or longer as are International calls from your call bundle from the UK to 28 countries (see country list at the bottom)

If there is a downside to the Orange tariffs, they don’t offer a mid term upgrade if you commit to a longer term contract. For example, with o2 when you commit to a 24 month contract you receive a handset upgrade at the mid point of your contract, in this case at month 12. Having said that, you do receive the benefit of free handset insurance, a benefit not offered by any other network inclusively as part of their package. You have to way up the pros and cons here and make a decision on whether having insured product is a better option than a new handset every 12 months? Typical 3rd party handset insurance is going to cost around £4.99 per month for low value handsets, that’s £60 per year per handset give or take a few p. Ever lost a handset? Expensive to replace aren’t they and the grief you go through! With Orange care you will get a replacement next day. For the business user that’s invaluable if you lose your phone or it’s stolen!

This isn’t a plug for Orange, our margins are the same from any network on Tariffsupermarket, we just like the idea of the benefits Orange currently have in their tariffs and importantly the pricing.
